High Density Mineral Wool Insulation Specifications

High density rock wool board is produced in a fixed mineral wool board format for projects requiring defined density, thickness and panel dimensions. The available range covers 120–200 kg/m³ density and 30–150 mm thickness, with 1200 × 600 mm as the standard board size.

The high density mineral wool insulation specification can combine the required board dimensions with thermal conductivity, operating temperature, compressive strength and fire-performance requirements for the order.

Available Specification Range High Density Rock Wool Board
Material Rock Wool / Mineral Wool
Density 120–200 kg/m³
Thickness 30–150 mm
Standard Dimensions 1.2 × 0.6 m
Thermal Conductivity 0.038–0.045 W/m·K
Maximum Operating Temperature 600°C
Compressive Strength 70–150 kPa
Combustion Performance Class A1 (GB 8624)
Melting Point >1000°C

Density, thickness and board dimensions form the main physical supply specification. Thermal conductivity, compressive strength, operating temperature and combustion performance are recorded separately so the quoted board can be matched to the required project specification.

Typical Applications

High-density rock wool board is suitable for assemblies that require greater stiffness or defined mechanical performance in addition to thermal insulation and sound absorption. Typical applications include roof decks, floors, sandwich-panel cores and partitions.

The selected grade should match the actual loads, fixing method and support conditions. High density alone does not make every board suitable beneath waterproofing membranes, screeds or trafficked areas; those uses require compressive-strength and point-load data that meet the selected system's requirements.

Different load zones may require different board grades and installation methods.

Performance & Product Data

Density describes the mass of material per unit volume and influences the board's handling characteristics. Thermal conductivity, compressive strength, temperature limit and reaction-to-fire classification remain separate properties. Thermal resistance depends on thermal conductivity and installed thickness and cannot be determined from density alone.

The 600°C rating applies to the rock wool material; facings, binders or adjacent components may impose a lower limit on the finished system. Class A1 is the reaction-to-fire classification of the tested board, not the fire-resistance rating of a complete assembly.

Roofs, floors, sandwich panels and partitions should use compressive and fire data that match their design. Comparisons should use the same thickness, loading direction and test conditions.

Factory Supply & Order Specification

Insulvora manufactures and supplies high density rock wool board according to the required order specification. Quotations can be prepared from the required density, thickness, board dimensions, quantity and application together with any defined thermal, mechanical, fire or acoustic requirements.

For project purchasing and distribution orders, the high density mineral wool insulation specification can be carried through quotation and production preparation so the ordered board configuration remains clear.

Specification & Production

Orders are prepared around the required density, thickness, board dimensions and quantity within the available production range.

Performance Requirements

Thermal conductivity, maximum operating temperature, compressive strength and combustion performance can be included in the quotation requirements where applicable. Defined technical standards or target values can be submitted together with the main board specification.

Order Parameters

For project and distribution orders, include the target density, required thickness, board dimensions, intended application and project quantity together with any mandatory performance requirement.
